AEK B.C. and OPAP Group presented on Monday 26 September 2016 their sponsorship cooperation at the new company owned headquarters of the group.

SCRATCH,  the game of Hellenic Lotteries that offers “luck in an instant” and hands out thousands of winnings every day, will be the grand sponsor of AEK BC for the 2016-2017 season and its logo will appear on the all the official jerseys of the team. The sponsorship cooperation between OPAP, the leading group in the games of chance industry in Greece, and AEK BC completes three years.

Presenting the cooperation, the OPAP Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr. Odysseas Christoforou, said: “At our company we invest in Greek sport and society effectively and in practice. This is one of our main strategic objectives which proves that being methodical and consistent can bring the best results for Greek sport. In this context we are very happy to cooperate with clubs such as AEK with which we share not only love for the sport but also consistency, trust and being methodical. I would like to refer especially to the efforts of the management of Mr. Makis Angelopoulos towards AEK making even greater achievements”.

On his part, the OPAP Chief Customer Officer, Mr. Petr Matejovsky, pointed out: “OPAP will continue to stand beside this historic team as a partner and strong supporter of all its sporting achievements. Our collaboration with AEK goes beyond this sponsorship. The professionalism and dedication shown by everyone at AEK is remarkable; they always support OPAP’s social initiatives and share our passion. Most characteristic is the time the AEK players visited the renovated wings of the children’s hospital, proving that contribution is in their DNA. I want to wish the team much success both in Greece and Europe”.

The Commercial Director of AEK BC, Mr. Leonidas Papavasilakis, characteristically stated: “It is our pleasure to be here today at OPAP’s new headquarters. We want to confirm yet again that the aims and successes of teams are achieved with great and very strong partners like OPAP is in its industry. I would like to say that the cooperation should not just be seen as merely a sponsorship deal. Added value is given to it by the actions and activities that bind and unify the parties that are cooperating, such as AEK and OPAP, outside the contract, with actions and moves that regard corporate social contribution. On his part, the team captain, Dusan Sakota, characteristically noted: “Today is a very important day for us as a very unique cooperation continues for another year. For us athletes, OPAP’s contribution is very important, especially to our AEK. Because the support, material and moral, creates the necessary conditions for us to improve both as a team and individually. I would like to wish this co-existence brings even better results compared to last year; and why not even be coupled by our team winning a title”.

AEK player, Mr. Dimitris Moraitis, stated: “Even though I am young I know very well the cooperation that exists between AEK and SCRATCH. This cooperation is very important for us athletes too and our fans, many of who participate in the various joint actions with OPAP. Finally, I wish this season is full of success and brings many titles to AEK”.
