J.R Holden speaks to aekbc.gr during his visit at the AEK’s offices.”I feel great. This is like I came back home. It is wonderful feeling to be here. I have played for many teams, like CSKA, I have participated in the Final Four, but nothing compares with AEK and Greece.

I am very thankful. As I said before I had a great time here. I feel connected with AEK. It’s crazy, I know. Players who have played for one season, for example, in Russia do not feel like I feel here. 

“Coach Sakota is probably the best coach I ever had. I have played for Messina, for Ivkovic , but I have started with the coach Sakota. He gave me the motivation, the belief. And Coach Messina helped me a lot ,but without coach Sakota I would never have the right mindset to realize what I have achieved.”

And he concluded: “I have seen AEK in some games this year and one, two games last year. It is a good team and goes in the right direction. The fans need to be patient. 

I love them as I love AEK. I want to tell them to continue support the team, because there is nowhere like AEK! I know there Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and many other strong teams, but there is nothing like AEK. It is something special. I want to say again, that I love them and I hope to continue to love me” .
