Nondas Papantoniou gave an interview at aekbc.gr
”It’s a big step for my career because I am going to a higher level. It’s a new beginning for me and I will do my best to establish myself. I know that AEK is a very big club.
You totally understand what does it mean to play for AEK when you play in a stadium full of people, especially in a derby against Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. You understand what AEK means even when you are walking down the street, people talks to you or jeer at you.
I had nothing for sure until I signed the contract. I had a discussion with the coach and he told me that he wants me. I had bids from some smaller teams but
if I had not agreed terms with AEK I would have looked for an opportunity to play abroad.
And he concluded: ”The team enters into a higher level and will surely want to be in all three competitions. Final-4 in Greek League and the Greek Cup. In Eurocup the group is very difficult with strong and competitive teams. The fans of AEK support the team in difficulties. I think they will demand big things from us but they should accept even defeats. Patience is needed.
I don’t have the talent to score thirty points in each game. I love to work and train hard and I promise I will try to give 150% for the best of the team”.
