The board of AEK Athens B.C. announces the deal with Jure Zdovc.The new head coach of AEK Athens signed a 2,5 contract (1,5 + 1) with the ”Queen”.

Zdovc started his coaching career as the head coach of Split in 2003. He stayed the head coach of Split until 2004, leading the team to a 1st place finish at the Croatian Cup. Also, he won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Championship with Bosna Royal in 2008. In 2009 he won the Slovenian League Championship with Olimpija Ljubljana. Zdovc won three times in a row the Slovenian Cup with Olimpija Ljubljana in 2009, 2010, 2011. Also, he was the coach who led Olimpija Ljubljana in the top of European distinction, the Top-16 of the Euroleague.

Zdovc was the head coach of the Slovenian national basketball team in 2009. He returns in 2014. Also, Zdovc was named the Eurocup Coach of the Year in 2012 when he was the coach of Spartak Saint Petersburg and his previous team was Royal Halı Gaziantep from Turkey.
